Cabin Construction
This cabin is constructed from 45mm heavy-duty interlocking logs and 19mm tongue and groove roofing and flooring. This will create a strong and sturdy building to with stand the elements. The building is manufactured from certified sustainably sourced timber.
Roof Construction
The cabin features a reverse apex style roof. This design offers more space internally but gives the cabin a traditional looking exterior. Constructed from 19mm tongue & groove timber boards. This cabin features 3 felt options which are available to upgrade to if desired. These are the Polyester felt without underlay, with underlay or a higher grade Polyester felt with underlay. The option to add stylish roof shingles is available to create a decorative tiled roof finish.
Double glazing
The double glazed and toughened glass that is featured on this cabin will really allow you to enjoy the cabin whether it's warm or cold. There are 5 tilt and turn designed opening windows 3 of these being on the front and 2 on either side of the log cabin allowing the natural light to come in from different angles. The double doors can be placed on the left or right hand side of the front of this cabin and offer great security with the mortice locking system.

The Hartwood 6m x 4m Ettington Log Cabin, is the largest apex roof model in Hartwood's log cabin range. Making it ideal for a multi-use building whether you need extra living space, a large office or plenty of room for recreational activities such as a home gym, workshop, hobby room or combination of these.
As well as the double glazed double doors, there are 3 additional 3/4 length windows on the front with tilt and turn opening mechanisms that allow them to be opened conventionally or tilted back with the top of the window open. There are two more additional tilt and turn windows with one in each sidewall. The doors can be positioned on the left or right side of the front aspect as the cabin is built. making the Elmley an attractive and effective solution for extending your living space.
Three Felt options are available for this Log Cabin, Polyester felt without underlay, with underlay or a higher grade Polyester felt with underlay. We recommend the upgrade to Polyester felt with additional black sand felt underlay.
This product is Untreated. It is ESSENTIAL that you treat the garden building with a high quality, spirit-based, timber preservative immediately after assembly in order to activate any stated guarantee. This treatment will protect the timber from weathering and will need to be repeated accordingly in relation to manufacturer’s instructions.
We aim to deliver all products as soon as possible. Please check individual product pages for delivery lead times and services associated with each product in your order. Below is an outline of the services we offer on Hartwood products.
Standard Delivery
Following your order being placed we will contact you via SMS or email (both methods are used if supplied) to offer you a delivery date. Simply follow the instructions provided to confirm or change your delivery date. A date will be automatically selected if not confirmed within 2 days of receiving an offer. During busy periods deliveries may take a little longer than the suggested lead time, however we always work hard to keep delays to a minimum.
We will contact you the day before your delivery date by SMS with a three hour delivery time slot. We aim to meet these delivery times but delays may still occur. You will also receive a phone call from our driver 30 minutes before they arrive.
Deliveries are made on larger vehicles such as a HIAB truck. Log Cabins come flat packed on a number of pallets and are delivered to the kerbside, driveway or front garden. We will ensure that your order is delivered to the nearest point to your property that is adjacent to the roadway, subject to it being legal for us to park and clear of obstructions. We would suggest that if a fire engine can access the delivery point then so can our vehicle.
Lead times for standard services are stated at the top of the page and may be extended depending on location and circumstances. Upgraded services may also result in a longer lead time.
Installation Service
Installation is available on all of our log cabins for most UK postcodes and the service varies depending on the product. If home installation is selected, you will be contacted by the installations team to arrange an installation date. This service will normally be booked in between 14-21 working days after your order has been delivered. This is to ensure that you have fully inspected the product and are happy to proceed. In busy periods this lead-time may increase.
Delivery FAQ
Do I need to be home for my Delivery?
No, you do not need to be home for your delivery. All we ask is that you let us know via email or signed note to let us know that you will not be present for the delivery. In the note please let us know where a suitable place would be to leave the building. Our delivery drivers are NOT allowed to place your log cabin in your back gardens even if the gate is left open.
Will I need to help my delivery driver?
Our drivers DO NOT need your help during a delivery. They will not ask for your help and they can manage all the items themselves. We are not insured to cover any customer injuries and therefore we ask you NOT to help or try and help our drivers while they make a delivery.
My house has a restricted access, what do I do?
Our drivers are only contracted to provide kerbside drop offs and deliveries. They will NOT bring any of our orders through your home. A driver may offer to take an order further; for instance a back garden but this is ONLY at their own discretion. If you have any questions about access or you live in a restricted access zone please contact us prior to ordering.
My Order Has Not Been Delivered, What Should I Do?
We deliver between 7am and 7pm. If your order has not been delivered when expected please click here.
Please Note: Additional items such as paint, furniture or storage units may be delivered separately on a different day to your main product. If you have ordered multiple products in one order then you are likely to receive multiple deliveries.
